This patients teeth had worn down and chipped extensively over the years, due to his upper and lower teeth biting together in a very traumatic way.
Dr. Tony knew that:
– Teeth straightening alone would only fix the bite, but not restore the damaged teeth.
– Restoring the teeth using porcelain veneers without first fixing the bite would only mean we would’ve had to be more aggressive with tooth preparation, reducing their longevity.
To turn back the clock on this patient’s teeth, we first straightened his teeth and improved the bite using Invisalign.
Then improved the colour with some whitening.
Finally to restore the broken down teeth we used 4 porcelain veneers and some tooth – coloured fillings.
The results speak for themselves, don’t you think!
Dr. Chu and Dr. Tony recently traveled to the United States
They made it priority to visit Dr. Jennifer Plotnick at Grand Street Dental.
Dr. Jennifer is highly skilled and passionate towards her dental care and customer service. This practice is known for providing exceptional dental care and services for their patients.
Defiantly an eye opener and an experience they were well and truly expected to be blown away by!
It all comes down to personal preference but we mainly recommend electric toothbrushes for a number of reasons!
The small head on electric toothbrushes make it easier to reach places that sometimes can be tricky to brush, such as your wisdom and back teeth and the inside surfaces of your teeth.
They provide gentler brushing compared to manual brushes. Many models feature pressure sensors that alert you when you’re brushing too hard, reducing the risk of gum irritation and enamel wear.
Did you know you should be spending 30 seconds brushing each corner of your mouth? Most models will also alert you after 30 seconds so you know when to move onto the next section. Ensuring even brushing!

A: Stress can take a toll on your pearly whites in many ways! When stress builds up we may unknowingly clench our jaw or grind our teeth. This can lead to worn enamel, jaw pain and even headaches.
Stress weakens our immune system, making it harder for our bodies to fight off infections.
This includes gum disease, which can result in bleeding gums, inflammation, and bad breath.
Under stress, we often turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms like sugary snacks or neglecting oral hygiene routines. These choices can pave the way for tooth decay and other oral issues.
